No H8 Over Here (Junkyard Quote)

"Maybe if we focused on building more lanes instead of hating on the fastest folks all crammed in one lane, we would be better off as a race."
-WellDamn24

This is a comment someone posted on a blog.  The blog post was on the topic of movie and sitcom-maker Tyler Perry banning an episode of The Boondocks off television.  The Adult Swim cartoon created a disturbing character who had striking similarities to Perry.  Perry was offended by the episode and demanded that the network discontinue its airing.  So people generally call Perry's movies and television shows "coonery and buffoonery," but I think, like WellDamn24 states, those of us who want to see better have to be responsible for ensuring that there is a wide variety of Black entertainment being produced than just the select garbage that big corporations throw out there for us.  Hating this man or anyone else does nothing but create more hate.  I think if folks dislike something, create the thing you want to see.  Easier said than done, probably.  But when is something that's worth it ever easy anyways?
