(Random Impulse)
I just wanted to say since the poetry part of the class is coming to a close that I could never get into writing poetry. My own poems always sounded prosy, posey, and just something that's "already been done." Either that, or it was something that I didn't think was good, so I didn't want to share it with anyone. Or, I did think it was good, but I felt it was too personal to share it. I kept running into those problems, so I just stopped writing it all together. I still feel this way. I like reading other people's poems sometimes, as long as it's not too mushy. But one thing I LOVE LOVE LOVE is spoken word. I love when people really recite the poem, as in putting their ALL into it, not just reading it like it's some boring words out of a text book. I like when the poem is like a story that takes me somewhere. It's got to have feeling and emotion all up and through it. I can listen to some seasoned spoken word artists all day long. I hope this wasn't too diary-entry-ish.
