Poem You Should Read (Random Impulse)

Like, How Very

Leathery jackets holler the year of '81
Like the punk rock we jump to like we're dumb.
Meanwhile, a Betty dressed as Cinderella sits,
Stained, with a temper.
The taxi-driver's a smoke and shag kind of guy.
His grooviness soothes her nerves.
She says she "whatevers" the mediocre dude.
Thinks he's better than a slice of bread
To a chick of blitz and glamour like herself.
"He must be burnt out of his mind,"
And not just because everything the ditz puts a finger on shatters.
"And I told him he can totally bite me!"
I'm so sure of her innocence this time
But she won't be for long.
The taxi-man in all his cool speeds to an unknown spot,
While our valley chick decides not to cool out.
Our princess escapes her "prince's" drive to mash, for now.
But her driver will take her for a ride she will never forget.

I'm thinking of changing the last line to something more unique but means the same thing. Suggestions on the last line and any other parts?

  1. Hey, Kacie! :) I posted a response in my blog. I'm so sorry we didn't get enough time to work on this in class. It's a great poem!
